Papua New Guinea's Ryan Pini finished 32nd overall in the heats of the men's 200m freestyle at the Beijing Games in 1:49.04 secs.
It's a blistering pace for Pini, who cut one and a half seconds off his personal best time, and staggered from the pool after the heat.
He was wearing a borrowed fast suit but has one stashed away for the 100m freestyle heats, on Tuesday.
"I don't do 200 very often, so that was something a little bit new for me, and I just felt really great in the water - as soon as I dove in, it felt really amazing," he said.
Pini says he's happy with the Beijing pool and his performance at the Games so far.
"When I dove in, everything just seemed to come together right at the right time, and I feel very light in the water and I'm just really enjoying it."
