Samoan rugby player defies Australian court
Updated
Samoan Sonny Bill Williams has responded to an Australian court order prohibiting him from playing for any side other than National Rugby League club the Bulldogs, until 2013.
A New Zealand Herald reports quotes him as saying he'll go to jail to pursue his aim of switching codes.
Williams made his debut for French rugby union club Toulon yesterday, and says he will not be deterred by a New South Wales Supreme Court injunction against him.
The 23 year old walked out on the Australian club recently with more than four years remaining on his contract.
The NSW Supreme Court ordered Williams not to take the field with his French teammates, but he defied a court order and made his rugby union debut in the south of France.
