PNG authorities warn against fake condoms

Papua New Guinea authorities are trying to find those responsible for bringing counterfeit condoms into PNG.
Health officials are concerned the poor quality condoms could derail PNG's ongoing efforts to prevent the spread of HIV/Aids.
Our reporter in Port Moresby, Firmin Nanol, says PNG has an increasing HIV/Aids infection rate among young people.
Its health authorities have emphasised the use of condoms to prevent the disease from spreading.
PNG customs officials have warned of fake condoms - not made from proper materials - entering the country.
Spokesperson, Gary Zuffa says Chinese intelligence officials have warned of plans to export counterfeit condoms into PNG.
"Obviously you know there is a possibility or the risk of the goods still coming into the country''.
PNG's National Aids Council says they import quality condoms from a reputable firm and distribute it to hospitals and sex workers.
