Korean vessels collide off east coast

A North Korean fishing boat has sunk after colliding with a South Korean cargo vessel in North Korean waters.

South Korean maritime police say two crew members from the North Korean boat are missing, while two others have been rescued by a South Korean boat.

The accident happened in North Korean waters, close to the east coast port of Jangjun, about 20 kilometres north of the border.

The South Korean ship is staying near the site as North Korean patrol boats search for the missing.
