A Canadian teacher, dubbed "swirly face", has been sentenced to more than three years in jail in Thailand for molesting a young boy.

Our reporter Karen Percy reports Christopher Paul Neil had posted hundreds of images on the internet showing himself abusing young Asian boys, but his face was hidden by a digital swirl effect.

Computer experts were able to undo the effect and a worldwide search was mounted.

The Interpol agency took the unusual move of going public with its campaign to find him.

The 33-year-old from Vancouver was arrested in Thailand in October last year.

He pleaded guilty to the 2003 assault of a 13 year old boy.

He will spend the next 3 years and 3 months in a Thai prison.

He faces more charges in Thailand relating to another young boy.

Authorities say he could later face charges in other countries as well.
