British 70s rock-star, Gary Glitter, has been released from a Vietnam jail, after serving his sentence for sexual abuse.
Our south east Asia correspondent Karen Percy reports Gary Glitter's real name is Paul Francis Gadd. The 64-year old was arrested in Ho Chi Minh City in November 2005.
Four months later he was found guilty of committing obscene acts with two girls, aged 11 and 12.
He reportedly paid them about $10 each for sex on numerous occasions.
He was sentenced to serve three years in a prison in the southern province of Binh Thuan.
Local news agencies are reporting that he was let out early and will be deported.
Child protection activists want him to be sent back to Britain and put on a sex offender list.
But media reports in recent months indicated he wished to relocate to Hong Kong or Singapore.
