French soldiers killed in Afghanistan

Heavy fighting between NATO forces and Taliban militants just outside of the Afghan capital Kabul has left 10 French soldiers dead and 21 injured.
It's the heaviest battlefield loss for foreign troops in the country since the fall of the Taliban in 2001.
Earlier today, a major American military base came under attack in the second such attack in as many days.
