Several killed in China mine explosion
Updated
At least 21 miners were killed in a gas explosion at a coal mine in Liaoning Province in northeast China.
The search for four miners still trapped is continuing, but rescue workers warn their survival hopes are slim.
Fourteen miners were rescued from the pit but two died later in hospital.
Authorities put the number of deaths from coal mine accidents last year at 3 thousand 800 but independent monitors say the real figure is far higher as many accidents are covered up.
