Fiji church maintains stance against People's Charter

Fiji's Methodist Church, says it is maintaining its stand against the draft People's Charter.
Fijilive reports, the church has voted unanimously against the Charter at its annual conference, after the interim government launched a consultation process on the Charter on Monday.
The church says it can not be seen to support a military-backed government, which took power by force.
The Methodist Church's general secretary, Reverend Tuikilakila Waqairatu, says the Charter is an illegal, dangerous document that, if followed, will have a negative impact on the the lives of Fiji citizens.
