Solomons DPP preparing charges for RAMSI member over road accident
Updated
In Solomon Islands, the Attorney General's office says there's enough evidence to charge a Samoan member of the Regional Assistance Mission, known as RAMSI, over the death of local woman in a recent road accident.
Acting Attorney General, Gabriel Suri, has told the Solomon Star newspaper that the investigation into the case is complete, and the Director of Public Prosecutions is prepared to lay criminal charges.
The Samoan Ramsi officer is alleged to have been driving the vehicle that hit the 26-year-old nurse.
The officer, whose name has not been released, is reported to have been relieved of his duties, but remains in Honiara.
