Obama to accept nomination for US presidency bid
Updated
In the United States, Barack Obama will Friday accept the Democratic Party's nomination for President with a speech delivered at an open air football stadium.
Our North America correspondent, Kim Landers, reports from Denver as the first African-American Presidential nominee of a major US political party, Barack Obama will deliver his address on the 45th anniversary of Martin Luther King's "I Have a Dream" speech.
The 47-year-old will appear before a crowd of about 75,000 people in Denver, with millions more watching at home.
Barack Obama's senior strategist, David Axelrod, says the speech will focus on Senator Obama's vision for the country's future.
The Democratic nominee is running even in the opinion polls with Republican John McCain, who'll accept his party's nomination next week.
