Malaysia extends Philippines peacekeeping mission

Malaysia has agreed to extend its peacekeeping mission in the southern Philippines where there is a Muslim insurgency.
Malaysia has acceded to the government of the Philippines request for an extension of the International Monitoring Team.
It says a three-month period is a reasonable time to bring together the peace process.
