Civilians killed in clash with Sri Lankan forces
Updated
Sri Lanka's Tamil Tigers say five civilians, including two children, have been killed after security forces shelled a village in the island's rebel-held north.
The Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam say three civilians were also wounded in the attack on a village close to the rebel capital of Kilinochchi, 330 kilometres north of Colombo.
The rebels claim the victims were recently displaced due to fighting between troops and the Tamil Tigers.
There was no immediate comment from Sri Lankan military authorities.
