Fiji dengue fever cases up
Updated
There's been a marked increase in cases of dengue fever in Fiji.
The Fiji Times reports the Health Ministry has confirmed a dengue outbreak, with more that four cases of dengue per day reported at hospitals and medical centres.
Interim Health Minister Dr Jiko Luveni says all mosquito breeding places should be destroyed, and people suspected of contracting dengue should drink plenty of water.
The symptoms of dengue fever include headaches, joint pains and bleeding from the mouth.
