Think tank predicts return for ruling Vanuatu coalition
Updated
An independent think tank in Vanuatu predicts the two main coalition partners in the previous government will form the core of the new government.
Elections were held in Vanuatu on Tuesday to elect 52 members of parliament.
The Pacific Institute of Public Policy said early indications showed the ruling coalition was likely to return to power.
The coalition is made up of Prime Minister Ham Lini's National United Party and the Vanua'aku Pati, with other smaller parties.
The Vanuatu Electoral Commission does not expect to release official results until next week.
