The head of Afghanistan's anti-drug court has been shot and killed in Kabul.

Judge Alim Hanif, of the Central Narcotics Tribunal, was on his way to work when he was attacked.

He was leading a campaign to bring influential drug traffickers to court in a country that produces more than 90 per cent of the world's opium.
