The focus of the American Republican National Convention will shift to John McCain when he formally accepts his party's presidential nomination.
Washington correspondent, Michael Rowland, reports that John McCain will use his acceptance speech to highlight his decades of public service both in the US military and in the Senate.
He'll argue he's the most experienced and credible candidate for president.
Senator McCain will also underscore his reputation as a political maverick who's often taken on his own party and he'll outline his broad vision for America.
His speech comes a day after the rousing address by the party's vice presidential candidate, Sarah Palin, who took on her critics and defended her family and record.
Once this convention ends there'll be less than two months before election day.
