Police end PNG logging protest
Updated
Armed police officers have ended a three day protest by Greenpeace activists who have been preventing an export ship loading logs at a remote port in Papua New Guinea.
Police officers carrying M16 rifles boarded the export ship and ordered Greenpeace activists down from a loading crane they'd commandeered since Wednesday.
Greenpeace says the police escorted a company logging official who'd agreed to a land owner request to set a date for a review of logging operations.
