Canadian non-profit organisation SAWA Global will launch a program to encourage video journalism in the Pacific this Saturday.
The '100 Heroes, 100 Solutions' campaign starts this Saturday with an event at the University of the South Pacific in Suva.
SAWA Global founder, Daphne Nederhorst will invite professional and amateur video journalists to submit two minute films on a local hero.
"The aim of it is to give voice via video to 100 of the most inspiring heroes in our 50 focus countries in the next two years and our 50 focus countries are the 50 poorest in the world, and five of them are in the south Pacific," she said.
The project will accept entries from Solomons Islands, Samoa, Kiribati, Tuvalu and Vanuatu.
