Fears for southern Philippines refugees
Updated
The United Nations food agency says the humanitarian situation in the war zone in the southern Philippines is grim.
The World Food Program says tens of thousands of refugees need emergency aid.
Representatives have been visiting a packed evacuation camp in the southern town of Datu Piang, scene of the latest skirmishes between troops and separatist Moro Islamic Liberation Front rebels.
The WFP says the plight of the refugees has been made worse by days of heavy rain that's caused flooding in the area.
