Scientists from the Australian National University are working with researchers in China to make solar power technology more affordable for households.

The cheaper solar panels will be developed by the Centre for Sustainable Energy Systems at the A-N-U, and in conjunction with scientists from China.

Dr Igor Skryabin, from the ANU, says their Chinese counterparts are eager to get started.

"Their team in China is willing to extend this collaboration and it will involve the exchange of EG students, lectures and a broad range of educational activities, and so there are many opportunity for us and our partners. "
