St Kilda says no to Cousins
Updated
The future of disgraced Australian Football League star Ben Cousins remains unclear, after the St Kilda Football Club ruled out recruiting the self confessed drug addict.
Cousins' hopes of a successful comeback now appear to rest with Brisbane.
After meeting for four hours, the St Kilda board voted to reject Ben Cousins as a possible recruit.
In a statement, St Kilda Chief Executive, Archie Fraser said the club had undertaken a five month review on Ben Cousins and the Saints playing list.
Fraser said the decision was not taken lightly and Cousins could still be a great acquisition for another team.
St.Kilda is the latest in a long-line of clubs to distance itself from the Brownlow Medallist.
Brisbane is now the only club flagging an interest in Cousins, but a Brisbane sponsor has already expressed concern about Cousins becoming a Lion.
