Kampoan medal bonus hopefully Friday
Updated
Papua New Guinea's Sports Foundation is expected to pay out a promised medal bonus to Paralympic silver medallist, Francis Kampoan by the end of the week.
Prime Minister Sir Michael Somare announced Kampaon would be awarded the prize money when he came second in the men's T100metres, at the Beijing Paralympics in September.
Papua New Guinea's National newspaper reports the Foundation's chairman, Graham Osborne is hopeful the money will be paid by Friday.
Papua New Guinea sports minister, Dame Carol Kidu has told Radio Australia in the past that the money, amounting to nearly $USD100,000, won't be paid in a lump sum.
She said enough would be given to allow Kampaon to build his mother a new house, and the rest directed towards his education and training.
