Anger amidst land clearing in Australian heritage site

Traditional owners in a community inside Kakadu National Park in Australia's Northern Territory are calling for the local council to be penalised for land clearing in a town in a World Heritage Area.

A human rights group says Chinese police have arrested and beaten unconscious peasants who were peacefully protesting official corruption that was responsible for a weak dam and left their homes vulnerable to catastrophic flooding.
