Australia's Trade Minister, Simon Crean, says he wants to see the proposed free trade agreement between the Pacific and Australia and New Zealand provide long-term benefits in the region. Mr Crean was speaking at the opening of a two-day meeting of Pacific trade officials in Adelaide. The officials are working towards a plan for negotiations for the agreement known as PACER-plus. It is set to become one of Pacific Island Forum's most significant free trade arrangements. In the lead-up to the meeting, concerns have been expressed about the ability of the Pacific countries to get what they want from the agreement.
