Qantas to cut domestic flights in NZ
Updated
Australia's biggest airline Qantas says some jobs will be lost with the axing of all its domestic flights in New Zealand. Qantas is shifting its entire New Zealand domestic business to its low budget subsidiary, Jetstar. Beginning in June there will be fewer domestic flights but Qantas says it is increasing its flights on the trans-Tasman route. The announcement comes just weeks after Qantas reported a 66-per cent fall in its first half profit.
