Solomons desperately needs doctors
Updated
Solomon Islands' health authorities say the country desperately needs doctors in specialised areas. The Under Secretary for Health Care, Doctor Cedric Alepedava says there's just one obstetrics and gynaecology specialist serving the whole country. He says there is also a shortage of anaesthetists and internal medicine specialists. Doctor Alepedava says the resignation of one of two local anaesthetists has further strained the situation with patients needing surgery.
