Samoa businesses report massive drop in sales, blame Govt policies
Updated
Samoa's business community is reporting downturns in sales of up to 60 per cent last month, with the Samoa Chamber of Commerce says a survey of its members shows there's been a steep decline in business activity, much more than usual in February. Chamber President Sina Retzlaff-Lima says they don't want government handouts in the budget due in May, but rather policies which will let businesses trade their own way out of what she admits is a very bad situation. Particularly badly hit are rental car companies, who are seeing the value of their assets plunge as Samoa moves to switching from driving on the right to driving on the left later this year.
