World Bank says Pacific can act to boost investment

A new report by the World Bank has found 70 per cent of government investment promotion agencies miss out on job-creating opportunities by failing to provide information to investors. The report called Global Investment Promotion Benchmarking 2009 looked at investment promotion authorities in 181 countries. When tested with real-life potential projects, only 10 countries followed-up investor enquires. Jemima Garrett asked the World Bank's chief investment promotions expert, Robert Whyte, how the Pacific island investment promotion authorities rated in the global benchmarking report.
