Concerns for landowners over PNG LNG signing

After months of talks, local landowners and politicians have signed a benefit sharing agreement for Papua New Guinea's multi-billion dollar liquefied natural gas project this week. The ExxonMobil project is expected to double the country's GDP and lead to the construction of airports, schools and a major highway running alongside the gas pipeline. However, Transparency International PNG chairman Peter Aitsi told Radio Australia's Liam Cochrane that both ExxonMobil and the PNG government need to to do more to look after the local landowners.
