Tough new laws needed in domestic violence against women

The 5th Pacific Regional Meeting on Violence Against Women wrapped-up earlier this month, with 60 participants from 12 Pacific nations gathering in Fiji for meetings to discuss strategies to prevent gender-based violence. The National Centre for Women and Children of Tonga attended, and its representative says Tonga needs new legislation to deal with domestic violence, and assist survivors.
