Guam-US build-up running according to schedule

Over the next six years nearly 25,000 US Marines, soldiers, family members, and civilian Defense Department employees are to descend on Guam. Billions of dollars are being poured into Guam as the Marines are redeployed from the Japanese base on Okinawa. The first of the Marines are expected to arrive in Guam in September.

The transformation is epected to cost at least $US15 billion - with Japan footing more than 6 billion of the bill.
