Melbourne-based Pacific islander push for rugby union team

A former Wallabies coach says Melbourne should bid for the next rugby union team made up entirely of players from the Pacific islands. The Australian Rugby Union wants to boost the number of teams in the competition to 15 but faces stiff opposition from a number of countries for the right to host the new team. Even though John Connolly coached the Queensland Reds and a number of international teams, he believes the new Union team should be based in Melbourne.
