More than 200 nurses and other government employees in Solomon Islands' Western Province have gone on strike. The government workers based at the provincial capital, Gizo are not happy about being overlooked in rehabilitation assistance following the devastating tsunami two years ago which claimed 52 lives. Health services at the Gizo hospital have been scaled down and the strikers threaten to close it down on Saturday if their grievances are not met.
