Light weapons and the link to regional crime and insecurity

Conflicts like those seen on Bougainville and Solomon Islands, and the coups in Fiji, have shown the destructive power of small arms and light weapons. New Zealand researcher David Capie wrote a book on the issue in 2003 with advice for Pacific nations on how to tackle the problem. He's currently travelling around the region to update his work.
