Race to halt loss of indigenous Australian languages

There are currently 6,000 languages spoken around the world but they are disappearing at a rapid rate, and indigenous Australian languages are disappearing the fastest with one language lost every month. It's estimated that more than half of them will become extinct over the next century and most of these will disappear without being recorded. But now the race is on to preserve them, before its too late.
