NZ degree provides Pacific journalism boost

A new Pacific media course has opened for enrolments at the Auckland University of Technology in New Zealand. The Graduate Diploma in Pacific Journalism will offer credits for Pacific language skills, and try and boost the number of trained Pacific journalists in the region. John Utanga is the chairman of AUT's Pacific Media Centre, and a senior journalist on TVNZ's Tagata Pasifika program, who explains why there was a need for a graduate journalism program focused on the Pacific.
