Fiji President Ratu Josefa Iloilo to retire

Fiji's interim Prime Minister, Commodore Frank Bainimarama, has announced the retirement of the country's head of state, President Ratu Josefa Iloilo. Commodore Bainimarama made the announcement at a press conference after visiting Ratu Josefa at Government House on Tuesday. The Fiji Times reports Ratu Josefa will take his leave on Thursday and will not return to office. Vice President Ratu Epeli Nailatikau will be acting in the position until a new president is sworn in.
