PNG parliament in recess as no-confidence left hanging
Updated
There were rowdy scenes in the Papua New Guinea parliament this afternoon as the government and the opposition continue their increasingly bitter fight over yesterday's no-confidence fizzer. The government yesterday paraded its numbers in parliament to prove that it's not vulnerable to a vote of no-confidence.
Earlier, the Opposition said it had rallied enough support to topple Sir Michael Somare's administration. But in the end, parliament had to be postponed Tuesday because there weren't enough members in the house to form a quorum, and the anger boiled-over today in parliment with spectacular results.
