The head of the United Nations' climate agency says it won't matter if Australia turns up at global climate talks in Denmark later this year without a carbon emissions trading scheme in place. Yvo de Boer will be flying to Cairns for next week's Pacific Island Leaders forum, and he'll tell Australia's Pacific neighbours to make themselves heard as part of global climate talks. Mr de Boer says Australia has carved out a key role for itself in linking the United States with Asia when it comes to the global negotiations.
