Jellyfish blooms threaten fish stocks

Jellyfish populations in oceans across the world have been exploding, fuelled by pollution, overfishing and perhaps, climate change.
Dense jellyfish blooms have been recorded from the North Sea to the waters of the western Pacific. There have even been outbreaks in seas off Japan of the giant Nomura jellyfish -- a 200-kilo monster, that can grow up to two metres in diameter.
