Widespread strikes threatened in Solomon Islands

A wide-ranging strike by members of Solomon Islands Public Employees' Union, or SIPEU, appears to be going ahead as planned today. The Union's been threatening industrial action for weeks over what it says is the government's failure to pay up backdated wages in line with increased minimum wages. But that's not the union's only grievance.
