Excitement of Pacific Mini Games Opening Ceremony

The 2009 Pacific Mini Games are underway in Cook Islands after a colourful opening ceremony in Rarotonga yesterday evening. Over 1,000 athletes from 22 countries are competing at the Games, called "mini" because only 15 sports are involved, compared to the larger South Pacific Games.

Clement Paligaru was at the opening ceremony at the BIC National Stadium, where he caught up with athletes and officials after a four hour ceremony which featured tradition, and prayer.
