South Korea hosts talks on cutting southern bluefin tuna catch

Stocks of southern bluefin tuna have reportedly plunged to 5 per cent of 1940s levels. A secret report discussed at a meeting of the Commission for the Conservation of Bluefin Tuna in South Korea is now looking into reducing catches around the world. Southern bluefin tuna represents a massive portion of fishermen's catches in Australia and throughout the Pacific Islands.
