Exquisite lagoon proposed site of PNG tuna processing hub

A plan for the Papua New Guinea province of Madang to host up to ten tuna processing plants is facing continuing criticism. More than 700 people recently staged a protest at Madang provincial government headquarters, and petitioned the administration to stop work on the controversial Pacific Marine Industrial Zone.

PNG Correspondent Liam Fox has just returned from the site of the proposed industrial estate pegged to be the tuna processing hub of the Pacific, which he says is currently a beautiful lagoon.
