Pacific neighbours back PNG NRL bid

Fiji's and the Kingdom of Tonga have backed Papua New Guinea's bid to join Australia's National Rugby League competition. The man directing PNG's bid is Paul Broughton, who helped steer the Gold Coast Titans into the top tier of rugby league. Mr Broughton has taken on the task of being PNG Prime Minister Sir Michael Somare's personal go-to man for the bid.
