Vanuatu first recipient of European Climate Change funds

Vanuatu is the first recipient of funding assistance from the European Commission's Global Climate Change Alliance. The country's Prime Minister, Edward Natapei, travelled to Sweeden last week to sign the 3-point-2 million Euro in funding... to begin Vanuatu's National Adaptation Programme of Action on climate change. Addressing the signing ceremony, Prime Minister Natapei said his country is already experiencing impacts of climate change through seawater inundation, flooding, fishery decline, and drought.
