Tongan womens rights activist Mele Amanaki, who heads the Tongan Women's National Congress, has ended her protest fast after 21 days. Ms Amanaki had been fasting to protest what she says is injustice carried out by the government of Prime Minister Dr Fred Sevele. She said she would stop eating until both the Prime Minister and Deputy Prime Minister either resigned or were removed.

That hasn't happened, but Ms Amanaki says her decision to end her fast came not from her, but from God.
