Budget reliant on success of PNG LNG development

Papua New Guinea has handed down its 2010 budget at a time of gloal economic recovery and continued strong domestic growth. The nation's capital is expected to continue to grow, with an increase in real GDP of 8-point-5 per cent. Three percentage points of that GDP is expected to be contributed by the construction of the Exxon Mobil-led LNG project.
Total budget revenue is expeted to be around 350 million kina. Our reporter in Port Moresby, Firmin Nanol, was in the budget lock-up yesterday.
