Pacific warned of ocean acidification

Much of the focus of the climate summit at Copenhagen has been on global warming. But a group of international scientists are warning world leaders not to ignore the effect fossil fuels are having on the chemical make up of the ocean. Every year the worlds oceans sucks up about a quarter of all carbon dioxide emissions. When the carbon reacts with the water it creates acid, and the scientists warn ocean acidification will have dire consequences.
